Things have been busy. School, work, projects, family, friends, and other group responsibilities have slowed me down. However, I am continuing to find new helpful web applications to share with my fellow developers and designers. For the long version of what I've been up to, go ahead and continue reading.

I am the co-owner of a small web development and design company with my brother. Clients have been bogging me down for the past week and more deadlines are approaching fast (I’m sure many freelancers can relate). However, I have a line up of web applications I will be reviewing so you can expect daily updates to start back up again immediately.

Side Projects –

I created a theme for phpList and recently submitted it to ThemeForest.net. I only get 25% of the profit (Horrible cost/benefit ratio) but for what it’s worth, it’s available for you to download. It’s only $10, and is well documented and gives you an idea of how to create your own theme for phpList.

One a Day. Every Day. -

I have been noticing the traffic on weekends drops significantly. After seeing this, I have decided to update once every business day (Monday-Friday). The reason is that I have reviewed some great web applications on Saturday that seem to get overlooked for a web applications I review on Monday.

Advertisers –

Thank you. If it wasn’t for you, I would not be able to dedicate the amount of time needed to run theDailyApp.

Happy (eh, 1 month) Birthday to us! Yes, so, we're only a month old, but that's no reason not to celebrate! Like any one-month year old, theDailyApp is still learning a few things, dealing with issues as they pop up, and preparing for ones to come. I'll describe a few things that have changed, features that have been added, as well as the direction where we are taking theDailyApp.

Changes

Advertising Prices – Yes, I’m sorry, we had to. We got big faster than we expected and quickly sold out of all advertising space. We added two more slots (one of them already taken) and increased each banner spot by $10/month. To see more advertising details check out the Advertise page.

Submit App link - Each week I have received a few emails requesting a certain app be reviewed. I decided to streamline the process a bit and allow you to easily submit an application via the Submit App link.

Social Bookmarks - Digg, StumbleUpon, Dzone (by Friday!), DesignFloat, Delicious, Technorati, and Reddit buttons have been added to the bottom of each app posting. This is to make it easier for you to share apps or bookmark them for yourself.

A few minor things have changed as well. For example, since school has started, I have been finishing up reviewing applications late afternoon instead of 12:01 a.m. the morning of. I have also revised the top links a bit to make room for a diverse selection of web apps. Nothing you’ll notice, but just enough for you to know that theDailyApp is always working on improving the visitor experience.

The Direction

The direction for theDailyApp? Up, up and away! We are still increasing our RSS subscribers daily as well as unique visitors and page views. These results point to two signs. First, that a simple idea can not only succeed but thrive. And second, that word of mouth appears to be playing a hand. We advertised on only one website (Woork.blogspot.com), yet this is not where the majority of our traffic is coming from. It’s coming from communities like DesignFloat, DZone, and StumbleUpon. The web world is watching us and theDailyApp’s goal is to impress and surpass their expectations.

Other News

theDailyApp.com recently went, well, put on hold for a few days. We didn’t like it. We didn’t want to do it. Unforseen circumstances made it all but impossible for us to update the website. Please accept our apology as we continue to supply you the best web apps we can find – daily.
