File and Folder Management with Relay
The file managers that come with your server normally.. well, suck. The interface is confusing, page loads are slow, and uploading and downloading can be a pain. Many times you just need a simple file/folder manager that allows you to upload, download, delete, and preview images and files. Relay does just that.
Relay is an online, ajax powered file and folder directory system.
You can preview images on the fly, as well as add files to your “cart” and download the whole lot as a ZIP. Uploading is just as easy. Upload a bunch via the ajax loader into any specified folder and you’re all set.
I have found Relay particularly useful when I am unable to connect to my server via FTP to due to firewall regulations. Lose the default CPanel file manager and replace it with the sleek and simple Relay.

I used Relay a year or so ago to help share audio files with bandmates.
For the most part it’s very impressive and has all the features you need. The problem is whether those features work all the time, which for us they didn’t. Most likely this was a web server configuration issue but the wiki shows quite a few reported bugs.
Also, the project is a bit stagnant – still at 0.1 beta after being released over 2 years ago.
Well worth trying out though, since when it does work it’s a pleasure to use.
