MooScroll – A Clever Mootools Scrollbar Effect

Designers would create attractive themes and interfaces, but when content overflowed and scrolling was necessary, those pesky gray scrollbars would appear and clash with the design. With the failure of scrollbar CSS properties, designers were forced to design scroll-less themes. Not anymore.

MooScroll gives the developer to have attractive and functional scrollbar using the MooTools library. It gives the designer the ability to easily create their own scrollbar and implement them easily into their theme or interface.

Size does not matter when it comes to MooScroll. Whether you have barely enough content to scroll, or more than enough, it will work with your content and design to display your desired result.

In conclusion, MooScroll is a designers dream.

  1. Usually I design layouts with fluid / expanding areas to avoid the annoyance of ugly OS / browser scrollbars, just as you say.

This might be a good solution for more compact layouts where a scrolling section makes more sense than a long box. I love having options. :)

Also, I already use MooTools in MODx, so it’s not like this would add additional weight to the page!

    Great find, cheers.
