DabbleDB – Organize and Customize Your Own Database
Using Excel to add, organize, edit, and search your data can be a pain. Not only will it be available only on that computer, but to customize the look, mass edit, or export to pdf, charts, or even maps, would be impossible. Say goodbye to Excel and hello to DabbleDB.
DabbleDB is an applications accessed via the web (web app) that allows you to create your own online database application.
With DabbleDB you can update and maintain, restructure and edit, create and customize your own database and forms. Import your data from Excel, CSV, or any other major delimiting method into DabbleDB and your data is ready to go!
A neat feature I found very useful was the ability to create your own web forms. This allows you to create custom forms that are immediately added to your database and are ready for you to analyze and export into beautiful reports.
A commons account is free, so you’ve got nothing to lose by giving it a shot. The pricing starts at $10.00/month for private data storage, and allows for multiple users to access your data if you wish.
In the end, DabbleDB would be great for any political, small-medium size business, or perhaps even survey and marketing firm to keep, track, maintain, and export data.

Another excellent service that’s been around considerably longer than DabbleDB is HostedDatabase.com which was launched in 1999. Their pricing starts at $4.95 per month. You can also post free public data using a cool site called The Open Database Project, http://www.OpenDatabase.info, which is powered by HostedDatabase.com. Check it out!

You can check also another option (http://www.teamdesk.net).
If you want not only to get an Excel online, but a complete web-based app.
Your excel file can outgrow in a source for perfoming complex tasks, not only grouping info and build reports online.

DabbleDB is a great solution for small & medium businesses – in fact, we recently recommended it for a consulting client after a thorough review.
